M 3.8 Near Colorado City, AZ

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a minor earthquake of magnitude 3.8 occurred at 4:39 AM on November 06, 2022 (MST).  The epicenter of the shock was located near the Utah Arizona border, 1.3 mi E of Colorado City, AZ.  A total of 12 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater have occurred within 16 mi of the epicenter of this event since 1962.  The largest of these events was a magnitude 3.7 on May 22, 1988, 4.7 mi S of Colorado City, AZ.  The earthquake was felt nearby, as well as in Hurricane and Kanab, Utah.
