The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a minor earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred at 02:58 AM on November 16, 2022 (MST).  The epicenter of the shock was located 12.7 mi SE of Montpelier, ID and 18.2 mi NE of Bear Lake, ID.  There have been 13 aftershocks less than magnitude 3.0. A total of 3 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater have occurred within 16 mi of the epicenter of this event since 1962.  The largest of these events was a magnitude 3.8 on July 17, 1997, 7.0 mi NNE of Montpelier, ID.  A total of 5 earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or greater have occurred within 32 mi of the epicenter of this event since 1962. The largest of these events was a magnitude 4.8 on February 06, 1994, 12.1 mi SW of Afton, WY. This earthquake was felt nearby in Fish Haven, ID.
