Dr. Kristine Pankow received her Ph.D. in EarthScience with a Geophysics specialty from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1999. Since 2000, she has worked as a seismologist at the University of Utah. She is a member of the Utah Mine Safety Technical Advisory Council and is the Advanced National Seismic System, Regional Coordinator for the Intermountain Region. Her recent research papers have included topics such as the Bingham Canyon landslides, Utah seismicity and seismotectonics, dynamic triggering of earthquakes, and detection of and improved location of mining induced seismicity. Current research projects include continued analysis of Utah and Intermountain seismicity, detection and analysis of induced earthquakes, and detection of other types of seismic signals.
